Pond, Oak Hill TX, May 2003 Here's the south (away from the house) end of the pond from the other side. The two tallish plants sticking up past the cedar snag are swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata). I can't wait for them to bloom! And the horsetail (Equisetum hyemale, the odd spiky plant near the center of the tank) is starting to send up some fresh new shoots.

Closeup of water willow blossom, Oak Hill TX, May 2003 The plant nearest the house is water willow (Justicia americana), and I actually didn't realize when I bought it that it would get flowers. Here is one!
